

Steven Barmore
Lay Minister
After graduating from Iowa State University in 1979, Steven and his wife, Wendy, moved to South Carolina. Over the next 14 years, Steven worked for IBM in South Carolina, Washington, D.C., and, finally, Portland, Maine. From 1993 to 2009, Steven worked for LL Bean in Freeport, Maine. In 2010, he joined Habitat for Humanity as the ReStore Manager and worked there until his retirement in 2014
Steven graduated from the New England Synod’s two-year School of Lay Ministry. He has been active in his church for over 35 years, serving on the Church Council and leading it as President numerous times. In 2024, he was approved by the Bishop of the New England Synod to serve as a Licensed Lay Minister.
From December of 2024 through June of 2025, he served as the Interim Minister of First Lutheran Church in Portland, ME, at which point the church called a full-time Pastor. Steven is very excited to be serving at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at this time.
